Dry in Kata

For the last six months we have been forced to buy water from water tankers because the Government water feed does not supply water on a regular basis. The Government water bill is still the same even though we have bought three to four tank refills at 250 baht each time. When we made an inquiry, the government official said the water is being routed to Patong. Last year, we had no such issues. This story does not seem credible.

In the Patong area, lots of accommodation, such as resorts, houses, hotels and apartments have been constructed recently.

We, the Phuket Waterworks Authority, have tried to meet the water demands of residents by supplying as much water as we possible can, but it still isn’t enough.

We are presently compiling documentation to send to the Provincial Waterworks Authority of Region 4 in Surat Thani, requesting an increase of water pressure so that we will be able to supply the water needs of people in Patong.

I cannot tell you why the bill is still the same, because I’ve not been provided with enough information. It may be a problem with the supply or a problem with your water meter. I suggest you visit our office so we can resolve the matter.

You can ask our officer to check your water usage for the past 12 month period and compare it to the 12 months previous to that. If there is a problem, then you can tell our office and request an inspection.

Our working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. We can be contacted by telephone at 087-0120295 or 076-319173.
