Health insurance

I have just moved to Phuket and I haven’t taken out any health insurance because I have heard that I don’t need any while in Thailand. Could you please provide me with more information about health insurance in Thailand.

    Healthy Guy, Kamala.

Whether you carry health insurance or not is entirely up to you. However, without it, you will have to pay for any hospital expenses out of your own pocket. If you do want health insurance cover, there are private companies here that offer cover.

Sayan Tantakit, Phuket Provincial Health Office.

To take out health insurance cover, applicants must be less than 65 years old. We will need to see your passport and visa to issue the policy.
