Is my car still mine?

I am a British national, but I live, on and off, in Phuket and have a house here.

I bought a car from Ford in Phuket and they asked for the house documents and my passport. They went to immigration, got a new stamp in my passport and registered the car in my name (all very efficient).

However, each time I re-enter Thailand (once or twice a month) I am on a tourist visa. So, can I still own the car, given the stamp in my passport? Or is the only stamp that counts the one you had in your passport at the time...
